Welcome to **Way2ID** (the "App"), developed for institutions and businesses to simplify identification card data management. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the sensitive data of users and individuals registered in the App.

This Privacy Policy details how we handle personal information, what device permissions the App requests, and how we treat sensitive data. This policy applies specifically to the Way2ID Android application (package name: com.idcard.manufacturing).

2. 100% Offline-First Design & No Server-Side Collection

Way2ID is designed as an **offline-first application**.

  • Local Storage: All student and staff records, including names, classes, contact numbers, villages, and passport photos, are processed and stored locally on your device in a secure database.
  • No Server Collection: We do not host, run, or maintain remote servers that automatically collect or upload your registered data. Your data stays entirely in your control on your physical device.

3. Device Permissions We Request

To provide its core utility, the App requires access to certain device capabilities. We request the following permissions:

  • Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA): Used strictly within the App to capture passport-size photos of students and staff members. Captured photos are saved directly into the App\'s local folder on your device.
  • Storage Permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used on older Android versions to load custom image files and save organized student data packages locally.
  • Internet & Network State Permissions (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Used exclusively to open system sharing tools (like launching your email app or WhatsApp) when you choose to export your data. We do not use this to transmit data behind the scenes.
  • Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to notify you about local activities, such as completed backups or data packaging progress.

4. Data Transmission & Export (User-Initiated)

When you are ready to print physical ID cards, the App provides a mechanism to export your locally accumulated data:

  • Data Packaging: The App compiles and compresses class-wise records (CSV/Excel files) and captured photos into a secure ZIP file on your device.
  • Email Transmission: Once packaged, the App initiates an email sharing intent using your system\'s default email client, addressing it to the official print manufacturing partner at ceosps@gmail.com.
  • WhatsApp Sharing: Alternatively, you can choose to share the packaged ZIP file directly with our WhatsApp business contact.
  • Consent: This transmission is entirely user-initiated. No data is transmitted automatically in the background. By triggering the export and sending the email or WhatsApp message, you consent to sharing this student/staff data with the manufacturing provider strictly for the purpose of ID card creation.

5. Third-Party Services and Analytics

We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs, user tracking libraries, or advertising networks inside the App. Your app usage, session statistics, and sensitive registration details are never tracked or shared with any external marketing platforms.

6. Data Deletion and Security

Since all records reside locally on your device, you have complete control over data deletion:

  • You can update, edit, or delete any student or staff record directly within the App interface at any time.
  • Uninstalling the App from your device will permanently erase all locally cached databases, photos, and export folders.
  • For data exported to ceosps@gmail.com, the manufacturing provider retains the files only for the duration required to print and deliver your physical ID cards, after which they are securely deleted.
